Former stonemason Patrick Ford is the latest recruit to join expanding chartered surveyor Banks Long & Co.
Patrick, who did stonemasronry for five years, before doing a degree in Building Surveying at Nottingham Trent University, is now a Graduate Surveyor in the Lincoln firm’s project management team, which is seeing an increasing demand for its services.
His experience as a stonemason encouraged him to apply for the degree course, during which he spent a year on placement with the Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, working within its capital services team.
“I heard about the opportunity to join Banks Long & Co from a colleague already employed by the firm. Having achieved my degree and having a strong interest in conservation, I was delighted to join a practice which is involved with so many diverse projects,” said Patrick.
In his spare time, Patrick follows the fortunes of Newark Rugby Club, whom he used to play for. Over the past year he has also been doing Olympic weightlifting and coaching others in this sport.
Banks Long & Co Director Simon Bridge said: “We are pleased to welcome Patrick to our team. He joins us at a very busy time, when we are managing a wide range of projects in various sectors for clients across Lincolnshire and the wider UK.”
