A further key step in the redevelopment of Royal William Yard, Plymouth has taken place with the launch of the New Cooperage office building.
Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has transformed the two-storey Grade II Listed period building following a decade of redevelopment at the waterfront scheme. The restored building has added a further 11,820 sq ft of modern office space to an already bustling scheme.
The Georgian New Cooperage building overlooks The Green at the heart of Royal William Yard, with most of the ground floor given over to retail use. The open plan office space can be configured to offer office units ranging from approximately 6,155, sq ft to 11,820 sq ft, at a quoting rent of £10 per sq ft.
The development is being marketed by Knight Frank LLP and Listers. Joanna Crofts of Knight Frank said: “Royal William Yard is quickly becoming a hub for business and leisure in Plymouth, and a dedicated water bus gives excellent links to and from the centre of Plymouth.
“Urban Splash has created more stunning and high quality office space and we expect it to appeal strongly to tenants such as architects, engineering firms and creative companies.”
The 15 acre Royal William Yard site was originally built as a naval victualling yard. With dramatic views across Plymouth Sound the mixed-use redevelopment is now the home of waterside cafes, bars, restaurants, museum, art galleries, offices and residential space. Recently-opened restaurants there include River Cottage, Seco Lounge and Prezzo.
The site also benefits from a waterbus service, taking visitors and residents to the Barbican.
