BT has appointed international real estate consultant JLL as its property adviser as part of a major national programme to improve and consolidate its UK workplaces.
BT’s Better Workplace programme is one of the biggest of its type ever undertaken in the UK and is expected to complete by 2023.
More than 300 BT office locations across the UK will ultimately be consolidated into around 30 hub locations throughout the UK. The new locations with be a mixture of major refurbishments of existing buildings and new acquisitions. JLL’s acquisition and search mandate will encompass all areas of the country outside of London.
Michael Evans, corporate solutions director at JLL said: “This is a major programme to be involved with which will ultimately result in a fit-for-purpose office estate providing modern and inspiring workspaces for BT.”
Graeme Paton, managing director, property and facilities services, BT added: “The Better Workplace Programme is much more than a property consolidation exercise, it is a business and cultural transformation programme. We are working with JLL to identify appropriate opportunities. Our ambition is for all our refurbished and new locations to provide a great place for our people to work.”
