On behalf of St. Modwen, Wakemans is acting as employer’s agent, quantity surveyor and principal designer/health and safety advisor on the Staffordshire project.
Dean Watson, Managing Director at Wakemans, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting St. Modwen on this important new development at the heart of the Midlands motorway network, which will deliver premium warehouse and office accommodation to meet the needs of manufacturers as well as the country’s growing logistics industry.”
Contractor Bowmer + Kirkland is underway with the phase 1 build, which comprises distribution and office space totalling up to 89,375 sq. ft.
Three high specification units ranging in size from 12,375 sq. ft. to 49,000 sq. ft. will provide occupiers with first floor open plan offices with suspended ceilings and raised access floors, dedicated yards and parking plus round the clock access seven days a week.
Wakemans is currently out to tender on phase 2 of the Tamworth East development at St. Modwen Park Tamworth, which offers build to suit opportunities of up to 615,000 sq. ft. and will also involve highways works to provide a main access road. It is anticipated that construction will run in tandem with the phase 1 build and associated roadworks.
Adjacent to junction 10 of the M42, St. Modwen Park Tamworth offers excellent access to the national motorway network. It is also close to Birmingham Intermodal Freight Terminal, which enjoys daily rail connections with the ports of Felixstowe and Southampton.
