The British Council for Offices (BCO) held a tour of the Maurice Wilkes Building on St John’s Innovation Park in Cambridge at the end of February. Hosted by St John’s College and developers Turnstone Estates, the event saw more than 40 guests attend on the night, with Savills and BCR Infinity Architects acting as sponsors.
Industry professionals from across the region were treated to a presentation by Chris Jones of BCR Infinity, architects for the building, in the last remaining available space in the speculatively built office scheme who showcased the architectural evolution and thought behind the building’s design. This was followed by a tour and drinks.
The building is now 95% let following high profile deals to Darktrace, PwC, Raspberry Pi, Automaton Games and Mewburn Ellis prior to its completion in the summer of 2018.
Chris Goldsmith of Turnstone Estates, added: “We are delighted that the BCO chose to hold an event at St John’s College’s latest development. It is testament to the strength of the scheme and the significant interest in the unique nature of the Cambridge office market that we were able to draw such a crowd on the night.”
The building sits within the heart of Cambridge northern R&D cluster, which provides one of very few new office options for those looking to upscale their occupation in the area.
Savills are joint agents on the scheme with Carter Jonas.
