J Tomlinson has completed construction of over 50,000 sq. ft of industrial units at a popular trade park in Evesham, Worcestershire.
The £2.6m design and build project, delivered on behalf of Birmingham-based property investment and development company, Hortons’ Estates Limited, was officially unveiled to potential investors at an opening ceremony at Asparagus Point.
Works commenced on site in August last year and comprised construction of a 39,000 sq. ft L-shaped, eight-unit terrace and a standalone 15,000 sq. ft. commercial building, as well as associated drainage and external works. Terraced unit sizes range from 3,415 sq ft to up to 21,215 sq ft if combined, delivering much-needed additional industrial space to the local market.
The development is also set to welcome its first occupier, with storage and removals company, Squab, having acquired freehold of one of the units in 2017. The unit was purpose-built for Squab, who will be opening their third operation in spring.
Darroch Baker, construction director at J Tomlinson, commented: “It was a pleasure to work closely with Hortons’ to deliver this high-quality, modern commercial new-build project. J Tomlinson has a strong presence in the West Midlands and were able to draw upon the resources offered by our local support office in Canwell, Sutton Coldfield, to ensure the success of the project.
“We hope that future occupants of the new units thrive within their new location.”
Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’, said: “Industrial space in Evesham is in short supply. As a consequence, we are enjoying strong interest in these speculatively-built units.”
The project is the latest in a range of commercial/industrial new builds delivered across the West Midlands by J Tomlinson, having successfully completed construction of 70,000 sq ft of warehouse units at the Steel Park Trading Estate in Willenhall just last year.
