Work has started on three new units at St. Modwen’s 58-acre site in Gloucester, as part of the developer’s wider plans to deliver 900,000 sq ft of prime industrial and logistics employment accommodation.
St. Modwen Park Gloucester is adjacent to junction 12 of the M5 motorway, and three detached units, providing 44,860 sq ft, 58,841 sq ft and 72,723 sq ft of industrial and logistics space will be available for occupation in quarter four 2019.
Work will begin as a result of St. Modwen securing reserved matters consent for the first eight units on site, after outline planning consent was granted in November 2018.
In addition to these new speculative units at St. Modwen Park Gloucester, the company can also deliver build-to-suit facilities on the site, perfect for businesses looking to locate next to a motorway junction in a prime location for access to markets and staff.
Pete Davies, Development Director for St. Modwen West and Wales said:
“The demand for premium quality industrial and logistics space with excellent connections to the motorway is the driving force behind our building programme at St. Modwen Park Gloucester. Starting these three new speculative units onsite, together with our ability to deliver buildings to suit specific requirements as part of our 900,000 sq ft development plan, will allow us to meet occupier requirements and attract significant inward investment for Gloucestershire, in line with our overall purpose of changing places and creating better futures.”
National planning and development consultancy Turley is providing planning services for the scheme.
Amy Hickson, Associate Director for Turley said:
“We are delighted by the Council’s decision to approve St. Modwen Park, Gloucester. Delivery of the business park will make a valuable contribution towards the local economy and provide much needed job creation in close proximity to where people live.”
St. Modwen Park Gloucester is one of three St. Modwen sites in Gloucestershire alongside the £22 million Gateway 12 Business Park and £150 million mixed-use scheme at Littlecombe in Dursley.
