CBRE Global Investors has appointed Eric Decouvelaere to take on the role of Head of Retail EMEA. Eric joins from McArthurGlen where he served as COO, delivering assets strategies and accelerating organic growth.
At CBRE Global Investors, Eric will be responsible for the €15.2 billion retail platform in EMEA, focusing on delivering outstanding performance for the portfolio of shopping centres, high street and retail parks across EMEA, by fine tuning retail investment strategies in a changing market environment and overseeing the retail asset management teams on the ground.
Sophie van Oosterom, CEO & CIO CBRE Global Investors said: “Eric’s appointment further reinforces our expertise as pan-European retail operator. Eric brings with him a wealth of experience and intimate understanding of the retail sector and how this sector has evolved over the past cycles. He has a proven track record of successfully implementing strategies that respond to changing market conditions, increasing customer and tenant experience and as such adding significant value to investors’ portfolios.”
John Mulqueen, previously Head of Transactions for EMEA, has been promoted to Head of Offices EMEA. Together with Philip Dunne, who joined the company as Head of Logistics EMEA last year and Eric, the sector heads are fully focused on the performance of their respective sector platforms, implementing and overseeing sector investment strategies along the risk curve, as well as ensuring best practice in EMEA operations.
Sophie van Oosterom added “the sector led approach ensures the company is best placed to reap the benefits of being one of the only truly pan-European landlord-operators in multiple disciplines. It enables us amongst others to develop agile concepts for our tenants and help optimize their business across sectors.”
Frans van Toor replaces John Mulqueen in a promotion from Head of Transactions Netherlands to head up the transaction team for EMEA. Frans, who joined the company in 2018, will now be responsible for overseeing the EMEA region transaction strategy, including deal sourcing, acquisitions and disposals.
