Browne Jacobson has recruited Helena Wootton as a partner in its growing commercial team in Nottingham.
Helena joins from Capital One (Europe) where she was Assistant General Counsel, heading up its Commercial Team in Nottingham. Whilst at Capital One, Helena played a leading role in negotiating complex supply and outsourcing agreements, partnership deals and was involved in the sponsorship of the Capital One Cup. Prior to joining Capital One, Helena spent seven years at Eversheds.
Dual qualified as a barrister and solicitor, Helena specialises in providing legal advice and commercial expertise on information technology, data protection, sponsorship, outsourcing and supply, and agency & distribution agreements to the financial services and public sector.
Helena’s appointment brings the total number of partners at the firm’s Nottingham office to 48.
She joins a 15 strong legal team in Nottingham which acts for a wide range of commercial clients including a national retailers and a range of luxury brands in the perfume, clothing and automotive sectors on sponsorship and services agreements, amongst others.
Helena’s appointment follows a successful year for Browne Jacobson in which turnover rose 17% to a record £41.3m. The year on year increase was the highest recorded by the firm for over a decade and has been delivered without acquisition or merger.
