Carter Jonas, the national property consultancy, has secured planning permission on behalf of Barratt London and the Hyde Group for 350 homes alongside new community and leisure facilities, designed by Pollard Thomas Edwards, across two development plots in the second phase at Harrow View East.
Harrow View East is on the site of the former Kodak factory, set within the Harrow & Wealdstone Opportunity Area and the Heart of Harrow Housing Zone – both of which are designated by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Harrow Council for the provision of new housing.
Overall, the scheme will comprise a mix of unit types and tenure in order to meet the range of needs of local people. In the second phase, 40 percent of the new homes will be affordable housing.
Meanwhile, the second phase will see the creation of new community and leisure facilities over 14,500 sq ft (1,350 sqm) a further extension to the already approved landscaped green link, to provide amenity for new and existing Harrow residents, as well as local groups.
Alister Henderson, Partner, Carter Jonas said: “It is a privilege to be involved with a scheme that has community at its core such as Harrow View East. We are proud to have been a part of the team creating this new and exciting urban neighbourhood. The planning permission will enable Barratt London and the Hyde Group to take the next step in delivering much needed new homes and amenities to the people of Harrow. This project is a good example of how our planning specialists can work collaboratively with other delivery partners – such as architects Pollard Thomas Edwards – to create meaningful solutions for our clients.”
Matt Calladine, Regional Land and Development Director, Barratt London said: “We are delighted to have secured planning permission for the second phase of development at Eastman Village on Harrow View East. We have an excellent track record for delivering high quality housing and valuable local amenities for the people of Harrow, with our nearby Harrow Square development on College Road soon to complete, and look forward to building on this through our continued work with Hyde.”
David Gannicott, Group Director of Business Development at the Hyde Group said: “This latest milestone in the development of Eastman Village is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all the partners working together to create a fantastic new community in Harrow. We are thrilled to be part of this exciting project and look forward to providing more people with a roof so they can make a home.”
