JLL has announced a change in leadership in its North West office with the appointment of Steve Hogg as its new lead director and David Lathwood as chairman.
Steve will take the lead of the Manchester office, JLL’s largest commercial office outside of London, on the 1st of July.
Steve joined JLL in 2003 and has played a key role in building its residential business outside London. As lead director for JLL’s regional residential business, he oversaw a team of 65 residential consultants working across 6 cities. In Manchester he has advised some of the UK’s biggest property developers and led the development, consultancy, sales and marketing of some of the North West’s largest mixed-use schemes, including the largest PRS development in the North, Greengate.
The move sees David Lathwood, who has held the role of lead director for the North West for 30 years, become chairman for the North West.
During his time at JLL he has built the office from eight consultants to the 170-strong team today. He will continue to provide advice and support to the North West team and help develop and diversify the business in the region.
David is also a non-executive chairman at Landmark Investments Group, an independent advisor to NM Rothschild and is on the board of internet services provider Telcom Group.
Steve said: “Having been with the firm for 15 years, it’s fantastic to see the growth and continued success of our Manchester office.
“The city itself is firmly on the world stage and has an increasingly impressive property sector. At JLL we’re working with a huge variety of clients to support them in the North West and it’s an exciting time to be taking on this new role.
“I know everyone in the office will want to thank David for his tenure as lead director and express their gratitude for him continuing on as chairman.”
David said: ‘’Having originally joined King & Co in 1986, the changes I have witnessed in the business and the North West region have been nothing short of incredible. This business has evolved over the period into one of the pre-eminent property consultancies and from a personal perspective, I am proud to have played a part in that journey. Steve Hogg has been a crucial part of our evolution and JLL’s North West business is in very good hands going forward. I am looking forward to continuing my contribution to the business in my new role as chairman.’’
Chris Ireland, UK chief executive at JLL, said: “People are integral to our business. Our North West business is made up of some of the best local talent, giving the scale and depth of property expertise that has helped us over our 50 years in the region. It’s great that we’re able to transition the leadership of the North West to Steve and retain David’s expertise at the same time.”
