Leading property development and investment group Strawsons Property has agreed a lease with popular supermarket chain Lidl, which has committed to a 23,000 sq ft unit at the group’s Leeming Lane development in Mansfield.
Prominently positioned on the main arterial route to the North of Mansfield with easy access to the A60, the site provides excellent accessibility for customers to the new grocery store.
The arrival of Lidl – which has over 730 UK stores, 12 regional distribution centres across Great Britain, and employs some 22,000 people – will further complement the wider commercial and retail offering in the area which includes Greggs and Screwfix, which have both recently secured units at Strawsons Property’s Old Mill Lane development.
A planning application for the store with over 100 car parking spaces has now been submitted and building work at the site expected to be underway imminently.
Adam Jones of Strawsons Property said: “We are delighted to have secured Lidl as a prospective tenant as they will create more jobs and investment in the area. The new store would provide an excellent grocery option for members of the local community.”
Strawsons Property has more than 50 years’ experience and focuses on developments and schemes that meet local needs and aspirations – spanning office, residential, industrial and mixed-use sectors.
Jack Ward, Associate Director at Innes England said “We are pleased to have been able to assist our client on securing a fantastic tenant in Lidl. This development will revitalise a key site on the A60 and will complement the existing retail offer nearby.”
Jo Hawley, Lidl’s Regional Head of Property said “We are delighted to be working on this new store development with Strawsons which will be Lidl’s first store in Mansfield. We look forward to opening our store offering our fresh, quality, great value products in the not too distant future.”
