GVA has appointed Craig Alsbury as head of a combined Planning, Development and Regeneration (PDR) service in the Midlands.
Craig, who in 2019 marks his 20th year with GVA, will oversee the newly amalgamated offer which will bring all 21 of the Midlands office’s planning and regeneration experts into a single, combined team.
This will allow GVA to offer clients an even more effective cross-sector service through the pooling of knowledge, resource and skills.
Craig said: “This is a huge moment for us. Historically it made sense to operate two teams out of our Midlands office and we have been extremely successful working that way. But the old structure has become less relevant with time and we have an opportunity now to do things differently and better.
“We are fortunate to have an extremely strong client base spanning both the private and public sectors; perhaps the best that I’ve seen in my time at GVA and this, combined with a really strong pipeline of work, means that the future is looking exceedingly positive.”
In addition to focusing on the quality of service that GVA delivers, Craig will be looking to develop and grow the team.
Craig continued: “We have an incredibly talented team, the majority of whom have been with us a very long time. This is testament to how GVA looks after its people, how we empower them to develop and grow within the business, and the range and quality of projects that we work on. We need to build on the great platform we have.
“Couple with the impending Avison Young Merger and our upcoming move into a new, contemporary and fully agile office space at Brindleyplace, we couldn’t be doing this at a better time.”
Craig’s appointment follows the retirement of former joint head of PDR in the Midlands, Stephen Hollowood.
Within the Midlands, GVA operates across a broad range of sectors, with clients including: Homes England, Hortons Estate, Jelson Homes, Trebor Developments, Taylor Wimpey, and the University of Birmingham.
