Indoor climbing company The Climbing Hangar will open its first dedicated indoor bouldering facility in Swansea, creating 10 new jobs, after securing a new site in a deal brokered by joint property agents JLL and Lambert Smith Hampton.
The Climbing Hangar has taken unit 3 Castell Close, Swansea Enterprise Park, which will be the latest addition to its existing facilities in Liverpool, London and Portsmouth. The new branch will feature a 600 sq m climbing surface with activities and classes for climbers of all abilities and ages including introductory sessions and clubs for children. The facility, which is set to open this spring, will also offer an onsite cafeteria and free customer parking.
Kate Openshaw at JLL in Cardiff said: “The recent letting of 3 Castell Close to The Climbing Hangar is positive news for Swansea, particularly given the site’s location in the heart of Swansea Enterprise Park amongst other strong leisure occupiers and the city being chosen as The Climbing Hangar’s latest location above others. It also shows that demand for industrial stock for leisure uses remains high against a backdrop of short supply.”
Ged MacDohmnaill, founder and CEO of The Climbing Hangar, said: “We are really excited to be bringing Swansea its first dedicated indoor bouldering facility. It’s such a vibrant city with an outdoor edge, The Climbing Hangar will fit right in, we cannot wait to get the doors open and everybody off the ground!”
