Top 100 law firm Hugh James has advised on a deal between Cariad Cool Water (formerly Princes Gate Cool Water) and Waterlogic.
Led by Gerallt Jones, partner and head of corporate and commercial at Hugh James, a team of corporate, property and employment lawyers worked with brothers Glyn and David Jones on the sale of their Cariad Cool Water.
Founded in 2001 by the Jones brothers in Princes Gate, Pembrokeshire, the company supplies bottled and point of use (POU) water coolers across Wales and the south west of England, with depots in Margam and Narberth.
With UK headquarters in Wolverhampton, Waterlogic operates globally as an innovative designer, manufacturer, distributor and operator of POU drinking water purification and dispensing systems designed for environments such as offices, factories, hospitals, hotels, schools, restaurants and other workplaces.
The deal coincides with Waterlogic’s announcement that it has also acquired Maestro Pressure Coolers, also a supplier of bottled and POU water coolers to UK businesses.
The expansion of Waterlogic UK’s product portfolio and customer base significantly strengthens the company’s position as the total water solutions provider of POU dispensers, bottled water coolers and specialty hotel and hospitality solutions, and accelerates growth in the UK.
Glyn Jones said, “As a family, we are proud to have built this business, and thankful for the loyal relationships we have enjoyed with our customers and employees. In Waterlogic, we have found the perfect company to continue the growth of the business for the future.”
“We are very grateful to Gerallt and the team at Hugh James for their first-class support in helping us to complete this deal. They have a great understanding of the food and beverage sector which was invaluable in helping us to reach an agreement with an industry leading business”
Gerallt Jones, partner and head of corporate and commercial at Hugh James, said:
“It has been a pleasure supporting the Jones family on both this deal and the sale of Princes Gate Spring Water earlier in the year.
“They founded and grew two fantastic Welsh businesses which have now been acquired by large multinationals, giving them the platform to achieve the next level of growth and no doubt securing and creating important jobs in the region.”
