SHW are proud to be the sponsors of a new video showcasing the work of BAME in Property – a forum increasing ethnic diversity and to promote Black, Asian and Minority Ethnicities in the sector.
The video – which can be seen here – celebrates the first year of the organisation and features some of the surveyors, planners and other professionals. At present only 1.2% of those working in the built environment industry are within this demographic classification.
The aim of the organisation is to support talented people of all backgrounds, encourage coming generations to venture into fulfilling careers, and inspire businesses to create a wave of positive change.
BAME in Property Founder Priya Shah said: “Through engaging discussions, roundtables and networking events, we hope to get a conversation going about why there is a lack of ethnic diversity in our sector and what can we do as individuals and companies to start addressing this and make the industry more attractive to people from diverse backgrounds.”
