intu and M&G Real Estate have confirmed that international fashion brand Uniqlo will be making its north of England debut at Manchester Arndale.
Famous for its Heattech thermal-wear and quality modern essentials, Uniqlo has signed to take 21,000 sq ft on a 15-year lease, bringing its cool and colourful fashion for men, women and children to the completely redesigned former Bhs store on Market Street.
The Japanese fashion outlet, which enjoys massive popularity across the globe, has recently launched a high profile underwear collaboration with celebrated designer Alexander Wang. This will be the brand’s twelfth UK store and only the fourth outside of London.
Manchester Arndale’s fashion credentials go from strength to strength, with recent arrivals Ralph Lauren, Monki and GAP and multi-brand boutiques like Tessuti and Scotts introducing exciting new labels and even more choice for Manchester’s style conscious shoppers.
Kannika Mall, asset manager at M&G Real Estate, comments on behalf of the joint owners: “The arrival of Uniqlo at Manchester Arndale is a real point of success for the centre, which continues to build its fashion credentials with a wider range of new and exciting brands than ever before. It is also brilliant news for shoppers in the north of England who can add Uniqlo to their shopping wishlist. The timing of the new store, just as Uniqlo launches its designer collaboration with Alexander Wang, couldn’t be better.
Manchester Arndale is one of Europe’s largest inner-city shopping centres. It is owned jointly by M&G Real Estate and intu. The retained agents are JLL and Metis Real Estate Advisors.
