Staff and guests at property agents and auctioneers CPBigwood are warming up for what will this year be the tenth annual charity golf day to be held at Edgbaston Golf Club on Wednesday, October 17.
Each year the winning team members are able to nominate the charity they wish to benefit from the money raised.
The winners of the 2011 event were NatWest headed by John Meehan who nominated Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice and Theresa Meek representing the hospice was presented with a cheque for £2,037.52 by Mr Meehan and Rory Daly, joint managing director of CPBigwood.
Over the years, the event has raised tens of thousands of pounds with beneficiaries including Sandwell & City Hospital Neonatal Department, Breast Cancer UK, Olivia Clarke, Macmillan Nurses, Barnardo’s, Acorns Hospice, the Maria Watt Foundation for Childhood & Teenage Leukaemia, MS Society and Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.

Rory Daly said: “The West Midlands has seen good times and bad times economically during the past ten years, but one thing has remained constant.
“The determination of the local business community to support those less fortunate than themselves.
“We are really proud of what CPBigwood has achieved for charity during that time, and we look forward to welcoming many familiar faces on Wednesday, October 17, this year.”
