Aprirose, the real estate investment company, has completed the acquisition of the De Vere Theobalds Estate Hotel for £24.2 million, from De Vere Hotels, owned by Starwood Capital.
Dating back to the 15th-century the historic Theobalds Estate was once the favourite country seat of King James I, before becoming a hotel in the 1990s. The landmark 140-bedroom hotel in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire is set in 55 acres of beautiful landscaped Italian gardens. Built in 1763 the Grade II* listed building marries towering turrets, elegant arched windows and a warm red brick façade with 21st-century style. It Is a two-minute drive from the M25 and only ten miles from London.
