National property consultancy, Bruton Knowles, is celebrating its 5th year anniversary of the opening of its Plymouth office and is set to instigate plans for further growth in 2019.
The firm, which has 12 branches across the UK, opened an office in Plymouth as part of its expansion into the South West region. Since launching five years ago, it has already proved a success, seeing turnover increase by 161% (2013-2018) and relocating to a larger office space to cater for the growing team.
Now considered a major player in the South West property market, the team has already valued £0.5 billion worth of property assets across Devon and Cornwall within all major sectors of the property market, and this includes a number of substantial portfolios.
Alongside this, the team has taken over the management of more than 500,000 sq ft of commercial floor space, including 250 tenants, and transacted in excess of 400,000 sq ft of commercial space, along with land sales and acquisitions. This follows significant instructions from clients including Palmers Brewery, Sutton Harbour PLC, Burrington Estates, John Lewis Pension Fund and numerous other pension funds and commercial property owners throughout Devon and Cornwall.
Driving the Plymouth team forward is a group of property experts who together have over 130 years of invaluable experience working in the industry, mainly within the South West region. Five new employees have joined the team over the past five years, and a sixth hire is set to be announced early next year.
Ashleigh Phillips, Partner in the Plymouth Office, comments: “The decision to open in Plymouth five years ago reflects the economic importance of this area to the business and the opportunities for an experienced team to offer an integrated approach for our clients. In what can be a challenging market, we have established our position through knowledge and hard work. Looking ahead to next year, we plan to continue to drive the business forward by further developing our brand into the wider South West region.
“We have a strong team in place, all of whom have superb local contacts, expertise and unrivalled knowledge of the Plymouth and surrounding markets. This helps us to provide high quality advice to both the regional business community and national clients.”
