A Midlands construction company is really motoring after winning contracts for major refurbishments of two Citroen car dealerships.
MCS Group, based at Claverdon in Warwickshire, has announced that it will soon start construction work at dealerships in Birmingham and Coventry after being appointed by the French motor manufacturer’s UK division PSA Peugeot Citroen.
Work is due to begin this month (July) on the £1 million contract to refurbish the existing dealership at the A45 near Birmingham city centre. The dealership will continue trading while work is carried out.
The project includes new glazing and cladding, to bring in line with the new Citroen CI, refurbishing large parts of the existing building. Similar work, but on a smaller scale, will be carried out at the dealership at Citroen Canley in Coventry.
MCS Group managing director Keir Edmonds said: “We have a great deal of experience and expertise in the motor dealership sector and we are therefore delighted to be working alongside PSA Peugeot Citroen on these two projects.
“Indeed, in recent years motor retail has possibly become our strongest sector. By working directly with leading manufacturers, developers and operators it has enabled us to achieve a unique understanding of what drives the industry.”
MCS Group has implemented this expertise to provide high quality, cost efficient showroom solutions for other leading brands such as Aston Martin, Porsche, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Nissan, Vauxhall, Ford, Mazda and many others.
One of its most prestigious automotive projects is the Porsche Driving Experience Centre at the Silverstone circuit, which opened its doors in November 2008 after six years in development. Located next to Hangar Straight, the centre’s circular design posed some unique challenges.
MCS Group also recently completed several high profile Midlands projects including a BMW Rybrook dealership in Warwick, a Rolls Royce McClaren dealership in Hockley Heath, and a Mercedes Benz showroom at Coventry.
The company has completed more than 175 projects across the UK in the commercial, industrial, retail and social care sectors and last year had a turnover of just under £20 million.
