Construction of a multi-million pound speculative development of seven high quality warehouse/industrial units is underway in Wiltshire, creating jobs and attracting business investment in the region.
Warwickshire-based construction contractor MCS Group has been appointed to deliver phase one of the development, known as Ignition, at Faraday Road in Swindon.
The industrial specialists have started on site and practical completion is expected in June 2019. The development includes seven Grade A warehouse units, with office space, ranging from 20,000 sq ft to 80,500 sq ft.
Tim Perkins, group development director at MCS Group, said: “This is an excellent development and we’re looking forward to delivering a first class business park in Swindon. It will provide opportunities for businesses to move to the area and create employment opportunities for local people.”
Phase one of the development includes warehouse units of 20,000 sq ft, 22,500 sq ft, 26,000 sq ft, 34,000 sq ft, 40,000 sq ft, 69,500 sq ft and 80,500 sq ft, with associated car parking. Eaves height ranges from eight metres to 12.5 metres.
Ignition is near J15 of the M4, in an established commercial area. Faraday Road is accessed via Wheatstone Road, which links directly into the A419 dual carriageway, bypassing Swindon on the town’s eastern side. Occupiers located nearby include Royal Mail, Valeo, Scottish & Southern, and Beckton Dickinson.
In addition to delivering warehouse/industrial schemes, MCS has built and refurbished more than 300 car dealerships including Audi, BMW, Mclaren and Jaguar Land Rover since its inception in 2003.
