Leading South West engineering contractors MCS Ltd has moved into new premises in Yate as part of their continuing expansion programme.
Commercial property specialists Colliers International let the unit at the Alpha Centre in Armstrong Way, Yate to MCS Ltd following their acquisition of locally-based Chipping Sodbury Glass.
MCS operations director Sean Roebuck said the move enabled both companies to improve efficiency and cut costs.
He said: “Moving in to the Alpha Centre has streamlined our joint operation and enabled us to better manage our costs without affecting our expansion plans.
“We were previously based at Frampton Cotterell but when we bought Chipping Sodbury Glass it was clear one new unit made more sense than the two existing bases.
“Colliers were able to track down this unit just down the road in Yate which ticked all the boxes for both companies.”
Jonathan Allen from Colliers International’s Bristol office said the end of terrace industrial warehouse unit offered just the right mix of warehousing and office accommodation.
He said: “Both companies were established in South Gloucestershire and the brief was to find a suitable unit nearby to accommodate both concerns and provide extra room for expansion.
”The Alpha Centre was ideally situated close to their existing headquarters with excellent road links to Bristol and the motorway network.”
Launched in 2005 the MCS team provides mechanical and electrical engineering support to the building industry. Additional staff have now been brought in as part of the expansion programme.
