Planners at Harris Lamb Property Consultancy have welcomed back a familiar face to their team.
Sean Rooney worked with the Planning Consultancy team until 2016 when an opportunity to work in Canada lured him away. Sean has now returned to the fold having worked within the environmental remediation sector and as a Planner at the City of Toronto.
Sean said: “It was brilliant to be able to work for one of North America’s largest Cities and I learnt so much from the experience. My time at the City of Toronto was primarily spent managing major commercial and residential development applications, so it was both familiar and enlightening sitting on the other side of the table.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity, but it’s great to be back in the Midlands working with my former colleagues, who have ensured that I hit the ground running by getting me involved in the numerous projects within their portfolios,” he added.
Sean, who has strong foundation working on a diverse range of projects within the environmental sector, said he was particularly pleased to see the changes that have taken place at the business during his absence.
“It’s been really exciting to see how much progress has been made within the eco-sector with the establishment of the business’ Environmental department, and I’m looking forward to working closely with the team. Having previously worked on environmental planning projects including flood alleviation schemes for the Environment Agency; nuclear and renewable energy schemes for various local authorities, in addition to major transport schemes like HS2; I think there is a huge amount of insight we can share to further extend our service to clients.”
Patrick Downes, Director of Planning, added: “Sean was always a great asset to the team, and we’re happy to welcome him back, having amassed even more relevant and diverse experience in the last couple of years.
“His understanding of commercial and residential planning, in addition to the associated environmental considerations, will add weight to our respective residential land and environmental teams, allowing us to cross-reference between teams and strengthen our offering.”
