The east coast commercial agency branch of Allied Surveyors Scotland plc has secured premises in Musselburgh on behalf of The Paint Shed, representing their first venture into East Lothian.
The acquisition of Unit 5, Olive Bank Retail Park in Musselburgh has been taken on a new 10 year-lease from landlord RB&JL Properties at a rent of £27,500 per annum.
The Paint Shed, headquartered in Stirling, is currently fitting out the 2,984 sq ft premises just off Newhailes Road with a view to being open before Christmas.
“Opening a store in East Lothian has been a target for The Paint Shed for quite some time so we are pleased to have helped in reaching that strategic objective,” said Iain Mercer, director of commercial agency (east) for Allied Surveyors Scotland plc.
The Paint Shed currently has 12 other outlets across Scotland’s central belt, including 3 in Edinburgh, and has opened a total of 3 stores during 2018.
“We are delighted with our new premises in Musselburgh. We have had many customers in Musselburgh and East Lothian for some time and it is great that we can now serve them locally and deliver down the coast on a daily basis,” said The Paint Shed managing director, Michael Rolland.
“We have hired 2 new members of staff and our manager Paul Blyth from Tranent rejoins us after many years working for one of the main paint manufacturers.”
The Paint Shed will be joining a strong tenant line-up at Olive Bank Retail Park which includes Vets 4 Pets as well as Home Bargains and food retailers Aldi and Iceland.
The landlord was represented in the transaction by Eric Young and Co.
