Handelsbanken has agreed a new 10-year lease at recently-refurbished office space at Aztec West near Bristol, owned by landlords Robert Hitchins Ltd.
The local relationship bank is taking 2,590 sq ft on the ground floor of the two-storey 2540 Aztec West at a rent of £54,390 per annum (£21 per sq ft).
Handelsbanken was founded in Sweden in 1871 and began operations in the UK in 1982. Handelsbanken Bristol Aztec West is one of more than 200 branches across Great Britain.
Branch Manager Stephen Howell for Handelsbanken said: “We are delighted to be taking occupancy at Aztec West. The increased space gives us room to expand to meet the growing demand for our tradtional local relationship banking services in the area.”
Simon Tothill, Property and Development Director for Robert Hitchins Ltd, added: “Following the successful letting of the first floor of 2540 Aztec West to Bellway Homes we have followed this up with a great letting to Handelsbanken for part of the ground floor.
“To have two such high-profile, quality businesses locating to 2540 backs up our decision to undertake a major refurbishment of the building that now provides Grade A accommodation in an excellent location on Bristol’s premier out-of-town business park.
“With recent highway improvements, easy access to the motorway and into Bristol City and the quality of accommodation that we can offer we are confident that the remaining 4,650ft² suite will appeal to the occupier market.”
The 14,702 sq ft Aztec West building lies off J16 of the M5 and close to the M4/M5 interchange.
Real estate specialists Colliers International and JLL represented Robert Hitchins. Alder King acted for Handelsbanken.
