The East Midlands regional office of Grant Thornton has boosted its Audit team with the appointment of Jane Jones as Associate Director.
A highly experienced auditor, Jones joins Grant Thornton’s Leicester office following 20 years as a Senior Manager with PwC at its East Midlands office, where she acted for a range of public and private sector businesses in the health, education, charity, retail, manufacturing and insurance sectors.
In the new role of Associate Director at Grant Thornton, she will in particular work alongside Audit Director Tom Copson and practice leader of the Leicester office Chris Frostwick, delivering advice and specialist audit services to the firm’s comprehensive portfolio of dynamic commercial clients across the East Midlands, as well as pension audits for privately owned businesses.
Immediately prior to moving to Grant Thornton, Jones was selected by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to undertake a two-month secondment as a member of the regional growth team, undertaking a national role working with businesses facing economic challenges or with ambitions to grow in the UK or internationally.
Commenting on the new role at Grant Thornton, Jones said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Grant Thornton as it continues to deliver excellent financial and business advice as part of its commitment to creating a vibrant economy in the East Midlands.
“I am very much looking forward to working with the Leicester based team and the wider firm. I have long been impressed by the firm’s culture, and the new role is a great professional opportunity for me to be part of a strong, committed team, in what is set to be a very varied and interesting new role.”
Tom Copson adds: “We are delighted to welcome Jane to the firm and she will be a fantastic addition to our growing team here at Grant Thornton in the East Midlands.
“Jane’s knowledge of the East Midlands market and her experience working with fast growing, dynamic, mid-market businesses will be a major asset as we continue to build upon our on-going growth in the region. The East Midlands is a fantastic place to do business and Jane’s appointment is a testament to our confidence in the East Midlands region and the opportunities it brings.”
