Here East, the innovation and technology campus owned by Delancey’s DV4 fund, has announced the appointment of Mike Magan as Chief Operating Officer.
At Here East, Mike will have overall responsibility for the daily operations of the 1.2m sq ft campus and community of 3,500 entrepreneurs, academics and creatives.
Joining Here East from the Momo Group, Mike has previously worked in a number of high profile roles in both the public and private sector. Whilst in the public sector he served as a White House official and Special Assistant to the President under George W Bush. During this time he was responsible for multimillion dollar policy initiatives.
Moving into the private sector, Mike became Managing Director at Media Intelligence before founding Magan Dahlgren Ltd in 2012. He brings a wealth of experience to his new role at the campus located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Mike’s appointment comes as former COO Andrew Roughan left the role last month in order to take the position of Managing Director at Here East’s Plexal Innovation Centre.
Here East is now home to a diverse community of tenants, spanning start-ups, global corporates, creative businesses and academic institutions. The campus has brought more than 3,500 jobs to the Stratford area and is heralded as a global leader in the commercial redevelopment of Olympic parks.
The campus is home to academic institutions such as Loughborough University London and UCL, fast-growth businesses including MATCHESFASHION.com and Sega’s Sports Interactive and global companies such as BT Sport and Ford. Here East is fast becoming a cultural hub and a leader in the creative industries, with the announcement of the arrival of the V&A Collection and Research Centre and the opening of new state-of-the-art studios for creatives opened with The Trampery.
