Thursfields Solicitors has helped a major transport company make its own move into brand new, purpose-built warehousing.
Paul Mathew Storage LLP, which trades as Paul Mathew Transport, is the leading transport supplier to the theatre industry.
It has now purchased and moved into 20,000 sq ft of new warehousing designed and constructed to meet its specialist needs at Vale Business Park, Evesham.
Previously its Midlands operation was based at Stratford-upon-Avon.
Rob Pettigrew, commercial property director at Thursfields Solicitors, said: “This was a complex matter and of major importance to Paul Mathew Transport, with a number of tight deadlines, including planning and the relocation and the termination of its existing lease in Stratford-upon-Avon.
“Delivery of the warehouse on time and in accordance with the specification required by Paul Mathews Transport was critical.”
The initial legal agreements were exchanged in December 2017 and practical completion was finalised in October 2018.
Established in 1980 with its headquarters in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, Paul Mathew Transport is still owned and operated by the same family.
It is the largest single supplier of transport services to the theatre industry and with over 150 trailers in action across the UK and Europe.
Clients include The Royal Shakespeare Company, Cameron Mackintosh Ltd, Glyndebourne Opera and Bill Kenwright Ltd.
Paul Mathew, managing director of Paul Mathew Transport, said: “Evesham was a major purchase for Paul Mathew Transport Limited.
“We were introduced to Thursfields at the start and this was our first dealings with them. Our initial meetings with Tony Gibb and Rob Pettigrew were greeted with great enthusiasm for the project.
“The progress from start to finish was swift and efficient with both Tony and Rob available at all times when needed. It is without doubt that their involvement made the tight deadlines happen.”
