The joint owners of The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, intu and M&G Real Estate, have announced that Seasalt Cornwall and Schuh Kids will be the latest new brands to join the centre, while specialist holiday operator TUI confirms an expansion. This adds to an already impressive year for one of the South West’s leading shopping destinations, following the recent openings of iconic British brand The White Company and Australian lifestyle and gifting retailer Typo.
Seasalt, the popular clothing retailer inspired by the Cornish lifestyle, will take a 1,360 sq ft store on a 10-year lease. The brand, which started life in Penzance in 1981, will bring a touch of coastal chic to Cribbs Causeway, with its range of bespoke prints and beautiful fashion and accessories. Still a family run business today, Seasalt built a loyal fanbase with standalone stores first in the South West and then nationwide, with stores and concessions in major department stores. At Cribbs Causeway, Seasalt will stock a full range of womenswear, footwear and accessories.
Popular fashion footwear brand Schuh will bring its dedicated children’s store concept to Cribbs Causeway, with Schuh Kids taking just over 2,000 sq ft on a 10-year lease. Schuh, which already trades at Cribbs Causeway, launched the children’s line concept in 2012 to offer a carefully curated range from leading brands including Toms, Vans and Converse, for small feet.
Specialist holiday operator TUI has recommitted to the centre, extending its lease for a further 10 years and doubling its size to take a 1,200 sq ft store. This comes at a time when the travel brand is promoting new routes from Bristol Airport to Marrakech and Halkidiki, with more destinations expected in summer 2019, and thousands of free kids’ travel places across TUI and First Choice.
The centre has seen further recommitments including Boost, Games Workshop and Smile Stores, which have all renewed on 10-year leases.
Sarah Lulham, Director – Asset Management at M&G Real Estate, comments on behalf of the joint owners:
“Both Seasalt and Schuh Kids are great brands, which complement The Mall’s extensive range of aspirational fashion and family-friendly names. To have TUI staying for another 10 years and increasing the size of the store is fantastic news for the centre, and for anyone planning their next big holiday. We have had an excellent 2018 so far, as national and international retailers continue to be drawn to The Mall as a leading destination in the region, welcoming thousands of visitors every day to eat, drink and play.”
