Derbyshire based Wildgoose Construction is celebrating after winning almost £40m worth of contracts and boosting the numbers in its workforce.
The company has been selected to build a new £1.9m two-storey extension at Saffron Medical Centre in Leicester and industrial units at Albion Gateway in Burton, Staffordshire, for St Modwen Developments Ltd, in a deal worth £5.7m.
Wildgoose, based in Alfreton, will also be building an £8.8m 84-bed care home in Stonnall, Staffordshire, on behalf of the Restful Homes Group, Brackley Primary Care Centre, in Northamptonshire, in a contract worth £9.3m and a 69-bed £6.9m care home in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.
Another contract win announced recently involves a high profile £6.7m project to remodel Northampton Museum and Art Gallery for Northampton Borough Council.
The project will see a dramatic transformation of Northampton’s Museum and Art Gallery in Guildhall Road, with a major expansion more than doubling the available public space.
These latest orders come just two months after Wildgoose secured three contracts worth a total of £16m. These included an industrial unit in Burton, two pubs for brewer Marston’s, in Runcorn and Bradford, and a care home in Watford.
As a result of the recent orders, Wildgoose has employed eight new staff including an estimator, a contract manager, a design and build manager, a senior quantity surveyor, an assistant quantity surveyor and three site managers.

Earlier this year Wildgoose scooped Best Commercial Project at the Local Authority Building Control (West Yorkshire) Building Excellence Awards 2018. The award was given to Wildgoose for building Square Chapel Arts Centre in Halifax, which was designed by Matlock architects Evans Vettori, and also recently won a Royal Institute of British Architects Yorkshire award. Wildgoose is also a finalist in the East Midlands Chamber awards in the Excellence in Customer Service category.
