Law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has strengthened its Commercial Property team with three new appointments; Gavin Morgans, Associate, Melanie Smith, Solicitor, and Tara Paul, Secretary, who will be based in their Taunton office.
Gavin joined the team in September and will be specialising in development. He acts for both private and public sector clients including private developers and investors, housing associations and local authorities. He advises on a wide range of commercial property matters including the sale and acquisition of sites for residential and commercial development, portfolio management and landlord and tenant matters, and secured lending.
Gavin studied at the University of South Wales and Cardiff University and previously worked in the social housing development team at Blake Morgan LLP based in their Cardiff office.
Melanie also joined the team in September having studied at the University of Bedfordshire and the University of the West of England and subsequently completed her training contract with Maitland Walker LLP in February 2016.
She is an experienced property solicitor having undertaken both residential and commercial property work throughout her training and since qualification. She is now focusing on a range of commercial property including secured lending, property acquisitions and disposals and development.
Tara also started at the Taunton office in September and brings with her plenty of administration and secretarial experience having previously worked for a building contractor for the last 13 years. She will be providing day to day administration support to the team.
The team have also recently promoted two of their staff members. Sarah Manley has been promoted to Senior Associate. Sarah specialises in the full range of commercial property work, including landlord and tenant and estate management work, acquisitions, disposals and development site set ups. The team has also appointed Irene Richardson as Associate (Chartered Legal Executive). Irene’s expertise includes dealing with a wide range of secured lending transactions, both commercial and residential as well as a general commercial conveyancing for both local and national businesses.
