A Cambridgeshire company specialising in precision communications technology to the agriculture sector is making a move to its new commercial premises in Kimbolton after almost three decades in nearby Great Staughton, advises Barker Storey Matthews who acted as the agent under the instruction of the landlord, Grovemere Property Limited.
A S Communications (UK) Ltd has taken a new, full repairing and insuring lease on Unit Q, Grovemere Court on the Bicton Industrial Estate in Kimbolton. The building is detached, extends to 5,600 sq ft and has a secure external yard.
As the landlord of Unit Q, Grovemere Property Limited has recently invested in upgrading the premises to improve the aesthetics of the building but, more importantly, make it more energy efficient to conform to Energy Performance Standards.
Barker Storey Matthews secured the building for A S Communications (UK) Ltd because the company had advised of its ideal property requirements which matched Unit Q perfectly, meaning there was no need for a wider marketing campaign.
David Bowman, General Manager, A S Communications (UK) Ltd explained, “With a staff of 17 who are all based locally, the need to fulfill the requirements of a national client base from a road-accessible location and with a presence in the same premises in Great Staughton since the company was established 28 years ago, we needed to remain in the same area of Cambridgeshire.
“The Bicton Industrial Estate is our ideal location. We had been looking to move there for years but no units were ever available. In speaking with Barker Storey Matthews earlier this year (2018) about our property requirements, we were able to make a pre-emptive move when it advised Unit Q was becoming available to let.”
Harvey Bibby, Director, Grovemere Property Limited, said, “We are thrilled with the letting and see the agri-tech industry as a rapidly growing sector with exciting opportunities. A S Communications is a perfect fit within our modern commercial property portfolio in East Anglia.”
