Leading private equity real estate investor, Henley, has strengthened its senior management teams through several appointments, including a new CFO and a new MD for both of Henley Funds Management and Henley Space – both part of the Henley Group.
Stuart Savidge currently Group CFO is moving to newly established position of Managing Director Henley Funds Management. Stuart successfully saw the launch of Henley’s first discretionary fund SIPUT (Secure Income Property Unit Trust) in 2017, which has now had three closes and raised £410m deploying over £250m already. Stuart will now be leading the development of a broad fund management business for the international Group.
Replacing Stuart is Ben McComb, who will be taking on group-wide CFO responsibilities at Henley for both the European and American Operations. He is joining Henley in early October from private equity firm, Novalpina Capital, and before that he was CFO at private equity real estate firm Brockton Capital.
Also joining Henley is Warwick Hunter who is taking on the role of Managing Director for Development and Asset Management. He joins from Qatari Diar, where he was Development Director, running major projects such as Chelsea Barracks and the conversion of the old US Embassy in Grosvenor Square to the Rosewood hotel. Warwick will run the Henley Space business, which oversees all of Henley’s construction and development work.
Commenting on these changes, Ian Rickwood, Chief Executive Officer of Henley Investments, said:
“Under Stuart’s watch, SIPUT has delivered much-needed homes for vulnerable adults in the underserved supported housing sector. It has also given Henley more diversification and now enables us to grow both a traditional private equity group and complementary funds management group. Stuart will do a great job building this business. We are delighted to be able to replace Stuart with such a high calibre person as Ben who has an impressive track record and valuable insight to oversee our growing and diversified activity. Warwick is another major upgrade in our team as the size, scale and geography of our projects expands so we need the top talent in the industry to be directing our efforts”
With a bolstered board Rickwood intends to spend more time on the USA business which continues to grow rapidly and other oversees opportunities.
Henley’s finance team has also seen change with former FC for the Group Bhavin Patel moving to the US business to head up the function and his replacement Suzie Cooper joining from Grosvenor.
Ian Rickwood, Chief Executive Officer of Henley Investments, adds:
“These senior appointments mark an increase in activity and the next stage of growth at Henley. They bring with them a wealth of experience that will be put into good effect in supporting Henley’s continued expansion and objectives, and we expect to be able to announce resulting activity across the platforms before long.”
