CBRE Global Investors has appointed Sophie van Oosterom Chief Executive Officer EMEA, leading the European arm of the investment manager, with EUR 33.9 bn under management (as per Q1 2018) in 15 countries across Europe. In addition to her new EMEA responsibilities, Sophie will also continue in her role of as Chief Investment Officer for EMEA. Sophie succeeds Jeremy Plummer, who has been promoted to Global Chief Investment Officer.

Jeremy will chair the Global Investment Committee.”

Jeremy Plummer began his real estate career in 1988 and has served in an international capacity in all roles. He joined CBRE Global Investors in June 2006 when CBRE Global Investors acquired Oxford Property Consultants (OPC), which he co-founded. OPC was renamed CBRE Global Investment Partners and under his leadership became a leading provider of global indirect investment solutions. He was appointed CEO of CBRE Global Investors EMEA business in 2016 and is a member of the Global Executive Committee.
Sophie van Oosterom has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and joined the company in 2013 as Head of EMEA Special Programs. She was appointed Chief Investment Officer of the EMEA business in 2015. She is also a member of the Global Executive Committee and Global Investment Committee. Before joining CBRE Global Investors Sophie was a Managing Director and European Head of Asset Management of the Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners private equity funds (now Silverpeak Real Estate Partners) with around $20 billion of assets under management at its peak. In this capacity, she was a member of the board of a large number of real estate companies throughout Europe, where she helped define strategy, financial structuring and value creation across all real estate asset classes. Sophie started her career in investment banking M&A advisory with Barings and JP Morgan.
