Interest in industrial freehold opportunities continues as we head into autumn 2018, with agent Barker Storey Matthews confirming the completion of another sale in the sector in the Cambridge area in which it acted for the vendor.
The recently completed deal sees the sale, to an investor purchaser, of the freehold of a 10,176 sq ft (945.37 sq m) industrial unit at Lion Works in Whittlesford, seven miles south of Cambridge city and a mile from Junction 10 of the M11.
While the identity of the new owner and the final sale price remain confidential, Barker Storey Matthews confirms that the property was marketed for offers in excess of £395,000.
The deal is further evidence of the strength of the industrial property market, explains Mark Critchley of Barker Storey Matthews who spearheaded the sale from the agent’s Cambridge office.
He comments, “The spotlight remains on the strength of the industrial market where freehold investment opportunities are rare and occupier demand remains positive.
“The unit at Whittlesford went to best bids with multiple bidders.”
Barker Storey Matthews has been retained as agent under instruction to let the unit at Lion Works, Whittlesford which is, currently, undergoing complete refurbishment.
