Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has strengthened its business restructuring offering in the Midlands with the appointment of a new partner.
Ryan Grant joins the firm’s Birmingham office today, bringing more than 18 years’ experience in business restructuring having been a partner at AlixPartners (formerly Zolfo Cooper) for the last eight years.
He has worked across a variety of sectors, including retail, real estate, automotive, manufacturing, and leisure and hospitality. Ryan also works closely with banks, private equity houses and hedge funds, particularly within the mid-market.
His role at BDO will see him enhance the firm’s existing presence in the West Midlands’ restructuring market. He will help guide companies through periods of change, conducting independent business reviews, stakeholder management, option analysis; pre-lend reviews, contingency planning, as well formal corporate insolvencies.
Commenting on his appointment, Ryan said:
“With Brexit on the horizon, it’s an uncertain time for businesses, so I’m looking forward to using my knowledge of the local market in and around Birmingham to support those who may be underperforming, in crisis, or just looking to secure a healthier and more prosperous future.
“The region is seeing a significant amount of investment as of late and is an exciting place to be doing business.”
Richard Rose, Midlands lead partner at BDO, commented: “The appointment of Ryan supports our commitment to attracting and retaining the best talent. As our clients require increasingly complex advice and guidance in order to flourish, it is the ideal time to be investing and growing our business advisory offering.”
The news comes after BDO announced the appointment of two new advisory and one audit partner to its London office in the last three months, as well as the promotion of 14 new partners earlier this year. In total, BDO has attracted more than 60 new partners to the business in the last two years.
