Avison Young has won its first new retail instruction since its acquisition of Wilkinson Williams.
The Crown Estate has appointed Avison Young as joint leasing agent, alongside Jones Lang LaSalle, on its Northamptonshire retail and leisure destination, Rushden Lakes.
Rushden Lakes opened last year and extends to 270,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant accommodation. It is a unique retail and leisure destination anchored by over 200 acres of SSSI wetlands, managed by The Wildlife Trusts, set beside stunning lakes. The great outdoors works seamlessly beside an impressive retail and restaurant line-up, with anchors including M&S, Primark, Boots and JD Sports, and premium fashion brands not usually seen out of town including L’Occitane, Joules, Hobbs and Jigsaw.
Two new extensions will complete early next year, with the opening of the new leisure phase extending to 160,000 sq ft, anchored by a 14 screen Cineworld, and the Garden Square retail phase of 17,500 sq ft across 13 retail spaces providing exciting new opportunities for brands.
James Potter of Avison Young commented: “Since Rushden Lakes opened last summer, the scheme has exceeded all expectations for retailer trading, and this has enabled it to recently attract exciting new brands including Superdry, Jack Wills and Bill’s.”
Hayley Turley, Asset Manager at The Crown Estate, commented: “We are really happy to have Avison Young working with us at Rushden Lakes, their breadth of experience and future-thinking approach to leasing aligns perfectly with our vision for the destination.”
