Chartered Surveyor Andrew Homer has joined M4 Property Consultants as Head Property of Management.
Andrew joins from Torfaen County Council where he was a Senior Surveyor and will now have the responsibility for managing the current portfolio of 107 properties generating a rental income of circa £2m for landlords and investors as well as developing new business opportunities.
The appointment has been made at a key time for M4 Property Consultants following their recent office move to the Grade II listed Beechwood House in Newport and the recruitment of graduate surveyor Kelly Binnie.
Commenting on Andrew’s appointment, Dan Smith, managing director of M4 Property Consultants said, “Andrew is an experienced property and asset management professional with over 15 years experience. As well as most recently working for Torfaen County Council, he has previously held senior roles in the Bristol and Cardiff offices of a national commercial property agency and worked on flagship retail and office schemes including Festival Park in Ebbw Vale and Cibi Walk Shopping Centre in Abergavenny, together with Almondsbury Business Park, Aztec West and Bristol & Bath Science Park all located in Bristol.
Getting Andrew with his experience and reputation to join the firm was an essential part of our growth strategy. He will now lead the commercial property management function and look to grow it’s client base. This will allow myself to spend more of my time undertaking sales and lettings of commercial property which is what I am best at!”
Returning to the private sector is an exciting prospect for Andrew. He said, “The opportunity to work for a company providing true commercial property asset management was too good to turn down for me. Undertaking the day to day property management, managing the service charges and maintaining good relationships with tenants are all essential parts of what we do. However, I feel it’s the asset management where we can add real value to our clients.
I like the fact that we work with a small number of clients but offer them a very holistic service. Understanding their requirements, we are able to act quickly and proactively to undertake activities that improve the estates and properties we manage whilst also providing value enhancement. I’m looking forward to working with our clients to achieve this and talking to new clients about how we could help them also.
