Parkinson Wright LLP, with offices in Worcester, Droitwich and Evesham is one of the first legal practices in Worcestershire to secure accreditation by the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS).
According to Law Society president Linda Lee, the CQS award is acknowledgement of a firm’s high standards in residential conveyancing; a positive thing for Worcestershire home-owners when deciding who to trust with the important task of dealing with most people’s biggest investment.
Jean Newton, Partner and Head of Residential Property Department at Parkinson Wright says, “We underwent rigorous assessment by the Law Society in order to secure CQS status. In an already crowded conveyancing market, Worcestershire CQS accredited legal practices will be a clear benefit to anyone looking to buy a home and they can be reassured of a swift and superior service.”
The main aim of the scheme is to reinforce consistently high standards throughout the conveyancing process and to reduce the risk of fraud. Marco Pierleoni, chief land registrar and chief executive of Land Registry said, “The Land Registry is committed to combating registration fraud. As part of our counter-measures we collaborated with the Law Society in producing a joint practice note to assist in identifying and preventing registration fraud.” It continues to work with a wide variety of organisations in this area and, along with Parkinson Wright, welcomes the introduction of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme as a further step in improving the conveyancing process for all.
