The COS Group has modernised its Barry-based offices with a £20,000 refurbishment.
The business products supplier has created a new showroom, meeting room, kitchen and staff rest area, as well as upgrading staff facilities in a bid to improve the working environment for its 38-strong team and enhance the visitor experience for clients.
Showcasing the fit-out and refurbishment services of COS Interiors, the upgraded space features some of the company’s leading suppliers including Desso, Herman Miller and Komfort.
This is the first of a two stage refurbishment programme, which will see a new entrance, bike rack, gym and locker facilities added to the Group’s head office.
The revamp is also part of the company’s move to improve its environmental credentials, which last year saw its sister company Natural Power Wales install 32 solar PV panels to the roof of the Barry premises.
In the past year, the company has benefited from generating 3347 kWh of electricity and saved 1907kg of CO2. This will result in annual savings of approximately £3,000 of FIT money and £1,500 of reduced expenditure on electricity.
To aid the COS Group’s green credentials further, it has now added a shower to staff facilities encouraging its team to cycle to work and replaced its old windows with double glazing to reduce heat loss, heating bills and CO2.
Director of COS Interiors, Alan Davies, said: “We are committed to providing a comfortable and welcoming place for our colleagues to work and guests to visit, and our concern for the environment is fundamental to our business, so this refurbishment satisfies both of these objectives.
“We have been based at our offices in Ty Verlon Industrial Estate for over twenty years and this year we felt it was time to undergo some phased modernisation. Fortunately, with both an interiors and renewable energy division we have been able to do so and have been able to showcase the quality of their work and quality suppliers.
“We are already reaping the rewards of the investment we have made as we have noticed a boost in staff morale, and we have made considerable savings through the green solutions we have introduced. We are confident that the next phase of our refurbishment which will see us create a new entrance and gym at our offices will be equally well received.”
Founded in 1968, the COS Group employs 38 staff through its five divisions – COS Office, COS Interiors, COS Print, Natural Power and Pitch Promos.
