Prospect Hospice has nearly doubled its warehouse capacity at Wroughton Business Park near Swindon, taking a second unit to support its retail expansion programme.
The charity has ambitious plans to grow its chain of shops from 12 to 20 by 2015, opening two new shops every year. It opened its 13th store in Royal Wootton Bassett earlier this year and aims to open another later this year.
The new warehouse, secured through property consultants Alder King, provides the infrastructure to support the expansion programme, offering more storage and sorting space and improved recycling facilities for unsaleable items such as broken plastic toys, books, wood and metal.
Prospect took Unit 4 at the Business Park last year, also through Alder King, and has now taken the adjacent Unit 5 which provides 2,546 sq ft (237 sq m) of space on a three year lease.
The units benefit from eight allocated parking spaces each and a generous service yard area.
