Leading South Wales construction company, Jehu Project Services, has won a £3m contract to build a new head office for NPT Homes at Baglan Energy Park.
The three-storey, steel framed building will cover 22,000 square feet and will be the base for over 400 members of staff. NPT Homes currently has seven offices across the Borough and the new office will allow all staff to be based under one roof for the first time. Work will start on site at the beginning of May with the project due for completion in January 2013.
Jehu Project Services has been working closely with B3 Architects to ensure the new office conforms to the BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standard. NPT Homes has requested extra environmentally friendly features which include a ground source heat pump, solar panels, solar heating and rainwater harvesting. Baglan Energy Park is itself a regeneration of brownfield land.
Marc Jehu, Managing Director of Jehu Project Services, commented: “We’re very pleased to have won this exciting contract and look forward to putting our green credentials to good use. I’m confident that we will be able to provide NPT Homes with an impressive new office that they can truly be proud of and hope that this will be the first of many projects that we work on with them.”
NPT Homes’ Director of Assets, Steve Tucker said: “The new building will allow NPT Homes’ seven existing offices to come together and bring all services under one roof. The building is part of our start-up business costs and the work will coincide with us investing £220m to bring all NPT Homes’ properties up to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard over the next 5 years. One of our promises is to keep the pound local and we are looking forward to working with Jehu on this project.”
Jehu Project Services is one of the largest privately owned family run businesses in Wales. The company works on projects across a range of sectors including retail, leisure, housing and manufacturing.
