Global property firm Jones Lang LaSalle has officially opened the doors of its new office premises at One Kingsway, located in the heart of Cardiff’s business district.
The company’s relocation from its previous address at Haywood House comes a year after Jones Lang LaSalle announced its merger with property consultants King Sturge. In June 2011 all 24 of King Sturge’s UK offices, including Cardiff, became part of Jones Lang LaSalle with the combined firm becoming a clear leader in the UK and continental Europe with greatly enhanced strength and depth of service capabilities.
Chris Sutton, head of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Cardiff office, said: “Our move to One Kingsway ties in with the lease expiry at our previous office and gives us a fantastic opportunity, a year on from the merger with Jones Lang LaSalle, to move into quality space which we can fit out and brand exactly how we’d like it”.
Visiting Cardiff to open the office were UK Chief Executive, Andrew Gould, UK Executive Chairman, Richard Batten, and Head of the South West Region, Jeremy Richards. Richard Batten commented: “The long established business foundations created by King Sturge in Wales was significantly enhanced by the merger with Jones Lang LaSalle last June effectively creating a new global entry into the regional market”.
Andrew Gould added: “Our team in Cardiff has been strengthened by the increased knowledge and range and balance of specialisms of the merged business ensuring we are now able to bring our clients’ properties and projects to the attention of even more national and even global players.”
The property firm, which has had a long established presence in the city since 1890, has agreed to lease 4,300 sq ft on the ground floor of the landmark One Kingsway building. The new office has been subject to a high specification fit-out, project managed by Jonathan Churchill, head of Building Surveying.
Chris concluded: “Looking ahead, our pipeline of work across Wales is encouraging with a range of significant on-going instructions for local clients such as, Welsh Government, Admiral Insurance, St Modwen and JR Smart. In addition, the national and international links allow us here in Cardiff to tap into global markets and investors”.
