The significance of the multi-million-pound speculative distribution facility built at Symmetry Park in Swindon has been highlighted by new research from Colliers International.
Unit 1 at Symmetry Park, which extends to a total of 221,320 sq ft, was constructed by leading industrial developer DB Symmetry. It is the only speculative unit of this size ready to occupy in the South West according to latest data from the global real estate services company on UK speculative industrial and logistics developments of over 100,000 sq ft.
Tom Watkins, associate director in the Industrial & Logistics team covering the South West for Colliers said: “The research shows that this distribution unit at Symmetry Park is a clear choice for any occupier seeking prime space of over 200,000 sq ft that is immediately available in the South West.
“The research map also underlines the strategic position of Symmetry Park, in a premier B8 use location at the heart of the M4 corridor between London and Bristol.”
Unit 1 Symmetry Park is one of two speculative units immediately available in the South West that are featured in the Colliers International report on UK Industrial & Logistics speculative developments of over 100,000 sq ft. The other is the 115,000 sq ft G2 unit at Horizon 38 in Bristol from St Francis Group.
The report also includes three other speculative industrial schemes of over 100,000 which are under construction.
These are all situated around Bristol: the 105,497 sq ft Western 105 unit from Richardsons & Curtis Hall at Western Approach Distribution Park, which is scheduled to practically complete in Q3 2018; the 150,000 sq ft unit from St Modwen at Access 18, which is due to practically complete early next year, and finally a 101,500 sq ft unit from Barberry at More+ Central Park, which is scheduled for completion in 2019.
