Experienced engineer, James Garment, has taken up the role of Nottingham office lead for engineering consultancy, Curtins.
Technical director James has been with the firm for more than five years and will now head up its Nottingham office, leading its 30-strong team of experts in delivering a range of schemes across the region and further afield for its clients.
James, who is a Nottingham Trent University alumni, has extensive experience within the construction sector and is proud of the team the firm has built in the city and its commitment to staying ahead of the curve to best service its clients.
Speaking of his new role, James said: “I have worked in Nottingham my entire career and I was really excited about the opportunity that Curtins afforded me. When I joined the firm in 2013, we had a small but highly experienced team on which we have built, allowing us to go from strength to strength.
“In that time, we have grown into a larger practice offering multi-disciplinary engineering services, leveraging our wide range of expertise and experience to deliver an exceptional service to a varied selection of clients thanks to the real team ethos we have fostered here.
“I am extremely passionate about the team we have built in Nottingham; we have cherrypicked the very best people who all have a real passion for their work, are honest and hard-working as well as incredibly talented and consistently in pursuit of new and innovative ways of working, which allows us to exceed our clients’ expectations.”
The firm has worked on a number of high profile schemes throughout Nottinghamshire and the wider Midlands, including the award-winning Heart of the Campus scheme at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton campus and the striking Vijay Patel building at De Montfort University in Leicester as well as a number of projects for private clients.
Curtins director Dave Strong is responsible for the firm in the Midlands. He said: “In Nottingham, we have built an incredibly strong team with a range of different experience and expertise which has played a key role in driving the business forwards.
“With James at the helm of the Nottingham office, we will be able to build on the strong foundations we have put in place over the last five years and focusing on our plans for growth across the region and within our target sectors.
“The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit extra which I firmly believe we offer. We have been established in Nottingham for nearly 40 years and have a pedigree of clients for which we continually strive to deliver creative and innovation solutions.
“I would like to congratulate James and I wish him every success in his new role.”
