Geraint Hampson-Jones an investment manager in the Cardiff office of Brewin Dolphin has achieved the highest professional qualification possible from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), the Masters in Wealth Management.
Geraint achieved his CISI Masters Award after successfully passing three papers following two years of study and is now one of only two within the Cardiff office to have achieved this prestigious qualification since it was introduced in 2010.
An Accounting and Finance graduate from Aberystwyth University, Geraint specialises in providing Discretionary and Advisory Portfolio management to Private Clients, Self Invested Personal Pension Pleans (Sipps) and Trusts. As a fluent Welsh speaker Geraint can also provide Portfolio management services through the medium of Welsh.
Achieving the qualification is of particular significance as Geraint is now RDR compliant ahead of the introduction of the FSA’s Retail Distribution Review (RDR) on January 1st 2013 which is a major reform of the regulations relating to the retail investment management industry.
On his achievement, Geraint said: “I am delighted to have achieved my Masters. The exams are tough and the level required to complete the qualification is high as you would expect, so to have finished and passed them is a great feeling. This qualification will contribute to both my professionalism and competence, and will mean that I am able to offer increased value to our clients and stakeholders. I am grateful to Brewin Dolphin for having supported me throughout my studies. The company has provided me with as much support as is needed to complete every qualification successfully.”
David Myrddin-Evans, Head of the Cardiff office said: “Geraint thoroughly deserves to have passed his Masters as he has worked extremely hard. His success is testament to his dedication to his studies and his career. We are pleased that we were able to support him through his professional qualifications and look forward to working with him to develop his career further.”
