Delicious Ideas Food Group (DIFG) will be the new occupier of a prime industrial and office unit in the Orton Southgate business district of Peterborough, confirms Barker Storey Matthews who acted as sole agent for the landlord.
The 1,760.7 sq m (18,952 sq ft) of production, warehouse and office space at Unit 2, The Links on Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate sees DIFG consolidate the various aspects of its business into one commercial space.
DIFG is a family owned and run healthy snacks and confectionery producer and supplier whose goods include in-house ranges Healthy Ideas and Snack Ideas as well as private label brands for clients such as New Look, Superdrug, Clintons and more.
The relocation of DIFG’s packing line – which has a capacity to produce half a million packs per week, currently – to its new base at Unit 2, The Links follows the Group’s recent acquisition of local Peterborough firm, Barnack Confectionery.
The acquisition, which will see both companies merging to trade solely under the DIFG brand, brings, for the first time own-brand and gifting options to the Group’s off-the-shelf lines and substantially increases DIFG’s market share within the retail sector.
Jonathan Potter, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Delicious Ideas Food Group, confirms that the move to The Links, in conjunction with a 15-year lease on Unit 2, forms part of the Group’s wider plans for post-acquisition growth.
He said, “Short term, we’re managing two sites but once the production plant at Manasty Packing – one part of the Group’s operation – has been moved to The Links, everything will be under one roof, streamlining operations further.
“Next month (August), we’ll be launching new vegan ranges and have also just secured the exclusive rights to a 100 per cent compostable water bottle. On numerous levels, our business is entering a new and exciting phase.”
Richard Jones of Barker Storey Matthews’ Peterborough office added, “We’ve recently commented on the healthy appetite there is for large industrial/warehouse units in Peterborough and DIFG is a case in point.
“Occupiers like DIFG are quick to snap-up such units, particularly when they are in prime condition and in such a prime commercial location as Orton Southgate. It’s one of the main reasons leading brands choose to locate their regional and national headquarters there.”
