An internationally-owned company is to expand into Coventry as part of a multi-million pound investment.
Geotech, a world leader in the design and manufacture of gas analysis technology, is moving from its base in Leamington Spa to Cyan Park in Coventry.
The new offices will also become the international headquarters for Geotech’s parent company QED Environmental Systems which is based in Dexter, Michigan USA.
The new 25,000 sq. ft. complex, bought by the company through city-based commercial property agents Holt Commercial, will be responsible for all business operations in Europe and the Middle East, as well as the Asia Pacific market for the QED environmental business.
The facility, which will be home to around 50 staff, is currently being fitted out ahead of the move later this summer.
The work will include newly-designed open-plan offices, the creation of purpose-built engineering facilities to ensure the business maintains and excels all current manufacturing and calibration standards.
Dean Kavanagh, Geotech MD, said: “Relocating to Cyan Park forms part of our strategy to build a world class environmental technology business under the QED brand, but is also the result of our sustained growth and need for increased office and engineering space to continue to meet the high standards our clients expect.
“This move positions us for further growth while reinforcing our reputation for accuracy, reliability and associated world-class customer service and support.”
Geotech was formed in 1972, and was taken over by QED group in 2016. QED Environmental Systems is part of the US public company Graco Inc, which has a turnover exceeding $1.4 billion and over 3,700 employees worldwide.
Peter Holt, who negotiated the deal for unit, said it was essential that Coventry and Warwickshire was able to house growing companies.
“Geotech is the prime example of the innovative technological companies which we have all across Coventry and Warwickshire, and as they thrive and grow it is essential that we retain them in our area.
“Cyan Park is really well placed in terms of the city but also the wider transport network, and Geotech is investing heavily in all aspects of the property, which is only good for the staff, the company and the development.”
