Plans for a new industrial and logistics park in Lutterworth, capable of creating over 3,500 employment opportunities, are set to move forward after the Secretary of State confirmed he would not be calling in the application for consideration.
Harborough District Council has formally issued the decision notice granting planning permission as per the Council’s resolution at their Extraordinary Planning Committee meeting of 23rd November 2017.
The permission is for the development of up to 3 million sq ft of logistics buildings in units of up to 18m in height. The site will be accessed off a new roundabout onto the A4303 giving access onto both the A5 and M1 (Junction 20).
Speaking about the decision, Jonathan Dawes, planning director at db symmetry, commented: “We very much welcome the Secretary of State’s decision that the determination of this application should be a matter for Harborough District Council. We are delighted that Harborough have now been able to issue the decision notice, as they had resolved to do so in November of last year, following our significant efforts over the last three years to demonstrate the acceptability of the site.”
